Dec. 23rd – the first of three incidents for the day started out at 07:10 for the vehicle accident with confinement at Lititz Rd. and Route 72. Chief 23 arrived and was met by a Quarryville Firefighter reporting a two vehicle accident with two priority 1 patients and confinement in one vehicle. Upon the arrival of the Rescue Squad, crews went to work stabilizing the vehicles and removing the passenger door on the one vehicle to create an extrication pathway for EMS to board and collar the patient. With the Rescue Squad tied up on the door removal the Engine Company handled hazard control. As the crew was cleaning up the extrication back at the station the tones dropped for the cardiac arrest on Cloister Drive. The Squad went en-route with a crew of five and arrived to assist East Hempfield Police Dept. with reviving the patient. The last of the incidents came in the early evening hours for the dwelling fire in the 211 local. Engines 231 made the response with five personnel and were the second arriving engine company pulling the back up line and assisting with a primary search. While the primary search was being performed crews from Rohrerstown and Eden found a victim in the residence and was brought out to awaiting EMS. The Engine operated on the dwelling fire for an hour before being released.
