Knox Box Program

The East Petersburg Fire Department encourages business owners in East Petersburg Borough and East Hempfield Township to participate in the Knox Box program.

This Program saves valuable time when called to your facility for a Fire related emergency.

 How the program works:

  As the business owner you contact us to get a form you fill out the form and then submit that form to the Knox company and then they send you a box that is keyed for our department only, once you receive your box you then mount it on the wall near the main entrance of your business and then you call our department to come and put a set of property keys in the box and to lock it. Most Knox Box installations the property owners will connect it to there burglar alarm system so if it would be accessed it will set off your alarm.

 Are my keys secure? Yes the key that opens the knox box's in our first due are locked in a pincode activated device Permanetly mounted in the Apparatus that only the officers of the department have access to. When there code is entered there is a time stamp recorded for when it was released and returned and which Officer put in there pin, this log is reviewed for any discrepencies. 

Why should I participate?

Your participation helps us in helping you, if we are called to  your property for a fire alarm or an actual fire we can use the keys that are stored in the knox box to gain entry and minimize any damage to your property.
