Annual Fund Drive Goes Digital- Supporting Your Fire Department in a New Way

The end of the year often marks the season of giving, and for our fire department, it’s also the time we launch our Annual Fund Drive. This vital initiative fuels our ability to provide lifesaving services, maintain our equipment, and serve the community we love. This year, however, our fund drive looks a little different. Not only have we transitioned to an entirely online approach, but recent territory changes have also impacted where we can seek support.

Here’s what’s different this year and how you can still make a difference.

Why the Change?

For years, we mailed donation letters to homes and businesses in the community, relying on these appeals to reach the people who care about supporting local fire services. However, due to territory changes, we are no longer permitted to solicit donations in certain areas that we have traditionally served. These changes mean some neighborhoods now fall under the jurisdiction of other fire companies.

If you live in one of these areas, we encourage you to consider donating to the fire company that serves your municipality. Supporting the department that responds to emergencies in your community ensures that your contributions directly help the team responsible for protecting your home, family, and neighbors.

At the same time, for those still within our service area—or anyone who has supported us in the past—we hope you’ll continue to partner with us through this year’s online fund drive.

How We’re Adapting

This year, we’ve moved away from mailing letters and embraced a fully digital-first approach to our Annual Fund Drive. This change helps us:

  • Expand our reach: By shifting to an online platform, we can connect with supporters near and far, including those who have moved out of the area but still want to contribute.

  • Reduce costs: Mailing physical letters comes with significant expenses for printing, postage, and processing. By going online, we can direct more of your donation to what matters most—protecting and serving our community.

  • Streamline giving: With just a few clicks, you can make a secure donation at your convenience.

  • Stay sustainable: An online approach also reduces our environmental impact, which benefits everyone.

How You Can Help

Although our approach has changed, the need remains the same. Here’s how you can contribute:

  1. Visit our website: Our secure online donation platform is quick, easy, and accessible anytime.

  2. Spread the word: Share our fund drive information on social media or via email to help us reach others who value the work we do.

  3. Traditional Methods: If you wish to donate via check, donations can also be mailed to 6076 Pine Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520.

Your Impact Matters

The Annual Fund Drive is our largest fundraiser of the year, and it’s critical to helping us fulfill our mission. Your contributions help us upgrade equipment, fund training, and maintain our readiness to respond to emergencies—ensuring we’re always there when you need us most.

Territory changes and the shift to digital fundraising have presented new challenges, but they’ve also opened new doors for us to connect with our community in innovative ways. Every dollar counts, and your support, no matter where you’re located, plays a vital role in sustaining the services that keep us all safe.

Looking to the Future

While we’ll miss the tradition of mailing letters, we’re excited to embrace this new chapter of fundraising. Moving online ensures that we can continue meeting the needs of our department and our community in the most effective way possible.

So, as you’re planning your year-end giving, consider supporting your local fire department—whether it’s us or the department serving your municipality. Together, we can ensure every community has the support it needs to thrive.

Thank you for standing by us, year after year. Your support is what keeps us strong, ready, and dedicated to serving this community.

Together, we save lives.
